Is everyone in your company working together towards a common goal?  Or do people often seem to work at odds with each other?  An effective strategic planning system aligns all aspects of your company, from its Mission, Vision and Values to the day-to-day actions of your staff.

Developing Mission, Vision and Values

The starting point for working together has to be the purpose and character of the company, expressed as Mission (what you do), Vision (where you want to go) and Values (what is important.)  This gives your organization its True North.

Strategic Planning

Effective business strategies come from ruthlessly comparing current external and internal realities with the Mission, Vision and Values of the company.   Each business cycle, the whole organization ought to engage in this planning.

Marketing Strategies

Customer needs comprise the core of the marketing strategy.  Disciplined strategic planning keeps you in touch with evolving customer behavior, technology, competition, profitability and other factors.

Effective Project Management

Strategy gets executed through Projects.  Project Management is a vital business skill, necessary for all levels in an organization.

If you don't know where you are going, any path will get you there.  InterLINK Management Consulting can help you define the path that is right for you.

Below is a summary of some InterLINK projects

InterLINK helped a community development loan fund re-configure its mission and long-range vision, and develop formal company values and strategic plans. We engaged the Board, Staff, and Community Stakeholders in a comprehensive survey and interview process, which enabled a very aggressive set of strategies to be approved virtually without objection. This set the organization's course to double its revenues under management--and achieve total self-sufficiency--within five years.

We facilitated a comprehensive strategy-development process at a 101-year-old steel-products company. For the first time, the company has a comprehensive, aligned strategy across its sixteen divisions, and is set to break performance records even as its competitors stagnate in a mature industry. The Chairman of the Board of Directors acknowledges InterLINK's role in this success, and contrasts it with previous efforts that fell short, including those done by the large national consulting firms.

InterLINK helped an electrical contractor develop a mission, long-range vision, company values, and strategic plans.  We developed the leadership team, the organization, and the management succession plan needed to support the vision.  This enabled an orderly leadership transition, and provided long-term growth and stability for the business.  The company is now experiencing highest revenues and highest margins in its 70-year history.

We helped a financial services company establish a common vision, marketing strategy and organizational direction.  We optimized the internal business processes to support these objectives.  These actions prevented the dissolution of the partnership, and contributed to significant improvements in revenues and profits in the first year.

We developed formal mission, vision and values for a high-tech medical device manufacturer.  Then, we developed an innovative performance management program, which measured each employee's performance in terms of these common goals and values of the company.  Employee participation increased from 14% to virtually 100%.

InterLINK developed a survey instrument for a high-involvement in strategic planning analysis.  Using this instrument, several manufacturers have exposed key strategic and leadership issues that were otherwise "hidden" or not recognized as problems within their business culture.  As a result, issues were identified and corrected which led to significant improvement efforts and increases in growth capacity that resulted in increased profits and reduced costs.

QuickQUOTES

"We knew we had to do something different to meet the challenges that law firms were encountering in a rapidly changing environment.  Also we knew we wanted participation and contribution from all of the staff, lawyers and non-lawyers alike. We looked around to find a company who could help us. InterLINK Management Consulting suggested we consider a very interactive and fresh process called Open Space Technology that would most certainly
generate many ideas, issues and solutions. As a legal firm this offered a unique way of approaching our planning session.  We opted to utilize their approach. As it turned out the process generated many excellent ideas that we have since implemented. If another organization wants to participate in a creative and innovative planning process we recommend they consider Open Space with InterLINK. It worked well for us." — Lee Keevican, President & Managing Director, Keevican Weiss Bauerle & Hirsch LLC

Open Space Technology

This technology focuses large groups of people, engaging them in constructive and creative conversation. OST is a highly participative process that works with groups of 25 to 500. In Open Space participants create and manage multiple agendas in parallel working sessions around a central theme of strategic importance. Using OST is powerful because participants effectively connect and strengthen what is already happening in an organization.
