Phil Hunsucker

Phil Hunsucker has managed at senior levels with experience in sales, marketing, distribution, and operations; most recently working as a business development consultant. A recent success was planning and launching a new industrial laboratory supply business unit for a leading US medical supply distributor.

His background includes strategic planning, business plan development, team building, sales team development, building international sales channels, logistics planning, contract writing and implementation. He is very comfortable meeting with senior management and in the board room.

Prior to entering the consulting field, Phil was VP of Corporate Accounts at SciQuest, a venture capital backed software and services company focused on the laboratory supply markets, both medical and industrial. His directed a team of technical and professional services personnel in building computer based business solutions for major pharmaceutical, industrial and medical customers in the US and Europe.

Phil started in sales and management with a four year stint in pharmaceutical sales, where he earned the company's highest sales award. This lead to a twenty-three year career at Fisher Scientific, where he progressed from sales management to Senior VP of Sales and Marketing with P&L responsibility for the eastern United States. During his time at Fisher, his teams developed strategic marketing programs used to enter new markets and produced continuous sales and profit growth.

His other management assignments have included VP of Business Development at Suprex Corporation, a high-tech instrument manufacturer, where he was responsible for securing contracts with major industries in new markets; and Senior VP of Sales at VWR Scientific, a Pennsylvania based international laboratory supply distributor. His teams at VWR helped develop and implement new sales and service value-add programs, which proved successful in significantly increasing market share and profits.

Phil received a B.Sc. in Pre-Med at Appalachian State University where he played football and wrestled. He has conducted management training seminars, completed advanced business management courses at Duke's Fuqua School and the American Management Association. He lives with his wife Beverly in North Carolina and hobbies include; snow skiing, golf, woodworking, tennis and most recently scuba diving.
