Doug Keeports
Doug Keeports is a development process and product design specialist. Doug is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience in new product development in industries as diverse as telecommunications, medical products, consumer goods and natural gas products. Doug has developed tools to manage the uncertainty in any new venture. He has helped design and implement product development processes using both lean principals and phase-gate techniques. Doug has also integrated intellectual property and product liability into the development process and created methods to capture and automate design knowledge. Doug is experienced in the use of solid modeling, FEA and rapid prototyping.
Before joining InterLINK, Doug was Vice President of Engineering for Dormont Manufacturing. Doug managed engineers, technicians and CAD specialists across various business units, as well as, leading a business unit team with profit and loss responsibility.
Doug began his career in the AT&T Bell Laboratories and has held various positions throughout his career including Product Manager, Lead Engineer and Senior Engineer. He has visited manufacturer's in Europe and India and has served on ANSI and MSS Standards Committees. He has hosted ideation meetings, has been awarded a number of US patents and has authored and filed his own provisional patent application with the USPTO. Doug earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineer at the Pennsylvania State University . He is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Doug has served as President of Murrysville's Library Board and lives in Murrysville with his wife and two children. Doug enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with his children, which has convinced him that the perpetual motion machine actually does exist.
