Optimizing Business Performance

Achieving optimum business performance requires aligning all aspects of an enterprise. While this makes common sense, most businesses do not routinely have the time, expertise, objectivity and inclination to assure that all aspects of their business are aligned for optimal performance. Consequently, most businesses have some symptoms of imbalance: poor morale, inconsistent work practices, lack of planning, constant crises, and so on.

What these symptoms all have in common is lack of alignment. In contrast, a completely integrated organization has achieved alignment in four major areas: Purpose, Processes, People, and Products. From years of consulting experience, and from the management "masters" such as Deming, Senge, Covey and others, we have developed an integrated, system-based approach to total alignment, which we call Neoteric Leadership.

Developing shared Purpose can help you move from a reactive mode. You can stop burning out on the today's crisis. Purpose comprises the aspirations of an enterprise. When everyone in the organization shares the purpose, the level of energy increases dramatically, and so does your ability to create the future that you want.

If People are your most valuable resource, aren't they also your most important investment? You can always replace old equipment with better technology. Anyone can build a new facility. But just imagine trying to replace the knowledge and experience of your people. The "people" component of your business is key to your ongoing business success.

By designing your work Processes instead of just doing the work, you will maximize productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Why allow your work processes to evolve gradually via incremental reactions to happenstance? Every process is already perfectly designed to give you the results you are getting. Isn't it time to design your business processes to give you the results that you want?

Maximizing Product performance successfully aligns your products and services to the market and customers' requirements. With some careful planning, you can create a product or service that “sells itself” because it is positioned correctly in the target markets, meets a customers’ need and is packaged to sell.

These four dimensions of alignment — Purpose, People, Processes, and Product — are commonly addressed as though they are completely independent of each other. That alone explains the enormous level of fragmentation found in most organizations today. If you want to flourish in the new millennium, you will have to understand the interrelationship they have in your organization. Our disciplined approach-Neoteric Leadership-helps you develop an organization that is "built to last".
